Lifelong Dream

As is the case with many of us, Andrew Abalos fell in love with the Honda S2000 at a younger age, but that also meant he didn't have the means to go out and buy one. After Abalos was able to get himself established financially and in various other ways, however, he was able to go out and buy an AP1, then modify it to absolute perfection, as is clear from the car's recent feature over at Super Street.

Stanced, Sort Of

Abalos started imposing his vision on the AP1 with a widebody kit, which he employed to cover his stanced ride's rolling stock. Unlike most cars from this movement, however, he didn't want to stretch the tires over the wheels, and instead wound up going with 18x10 front and 18x11 rear Work Meister wheels wrapped in Falken Azenis RT615K+ tires.

Power Boost

With the work going on outside, Abalos soon realized he wasn't quite satisfied with the S2000's stock output, either. "I decided on a supercharger as I wanted something faster than the usual day-to-day cars, but also still easily streetable," he said. There, he went with a Kraftwerks kit, a Js Racing header, Forcewerks exhaust, AEM 450 lph fuel pump, Injector Dynamics 1700x injectors, and AEM engine management, which is good four around 400 horsepower.

Redesigned Cabin

Inside the cabin, Abalos went to work overhauling the S2000's looks and ergonomics by adding a variety of upgrades including Bride seats, a Nardi Deep Corn wheel, a Chasing Js shift knob, an Innovate wideband, and a boost gauge to keep tabs on what's going on under the hood.

Head Turner

In addition to the Circuit Garage wide body kit, Abalos also addressed the exterior by adding a new rear wing, a Voltex Race front bumper, and a J's Racing rear diffuser, all of which was covered in a retina-searing shade called Phoenix Yellow for a truly head-turning look.

Suspension and Brakes

Of course, no good build is complete without suspension upgrades, and in that department, this AP1 has been treated to an Airlift air suspension, Powerflex bushings, and Hardrace roll center adjusters, along with AP Racing front calipers, 13-in rotors, and EBC Red Stuff pads to help slow the whole thing down.

Young Love

At the end of the day, Abalos is quite pleased with his long-awaited ride. "Even after owning exotic cars now and much newer sports cars, this S2000 still gets my soul moving - it always takes me back to my 20s," he said. However, it seems that he's now ready to move on to bigger and better things. "After owning this car for over six years now, I will finally be letting her go and it'll be a sad day for sure," he said.
