Now, the bad.

On November 13, 2009 during Tropical Storm Ida my apartment in Virginia Beach was flooded. I was forced out of the apartment to spend the night at a local hotel off Lynnhaven Park. On my way to the hotel my vehicle hit a rather large amount of water on South Lynnhaven Parkway. Upon entering the high water levels my car stalled. After attempting to restart the car, I heard rod knock. We towed the car out of the water and had it sent to Inline Pro.
The vehicle was thoroughly inspected and we came to a conclusion that the motor had hydrolocked. Further inspection revealed no electrical damage, only a motor that needed replacing. I have full documentation to back this. The motor was replaced and fully built. The vehicle was sent to a 'Shine Car Shine' who removed all of their interior, sprayed for mold/mildew, and shampooed the carpets.
DISCLAIMER :
In the State of Virginia if you have an insurance claim as a direct result of water that amounts to over $1,000 you receive a 'Water Damage' branded title.
As such, this vehicle does have a branded title. Again... I have full documentation stating that this was due to nothing more than a hydrolocked motor that has been replaced and fully built! Their are no electrical issues.

SELLING PRICE
As It Sits : $21,000

HELPFUL HINTS

I thought I'd take a moment to not only bump my own thread, however also to let potential buyers know about a few issues with purchasing this car.

1) Insurance. Statefarm has added this vehicle to their ineligible for insurance list with the reason being that it is too modified. If you have Statefarm and do not wish to change insurance companies, I recommend looking at another vehicle as they will only insure this vehicle with proof provided to their underwriter that it is back to 'manufacturer specifications.'

2) Financing. Securing an automotive loan for a vehicle with any sort of branding on the title is difficult. So far I have confirmed that neither Navy Federal, ABNB, nor Capital One will provide financing. If you are planning to finance this vehicle; please contact your local credit union and/or financing establishment to see what their policy is.

Good luck (again) Chad! Buy with confidence guys, don't let the title issue fool you... this is a great car at a great price, and Chad is meticulous about his cars and just got caught in a freak and unfortunate accident with the weather. His loss, your gain.

(on a side note, I just found out a few days ago that you moved to SD. Hope you're enjoying the weather out there!)

No real plans to part out the car, as if it doesn't sell I like it as it sits.

Is water damage the same as salvage? Just wondering because you can't get anything past liability for insurance for a salvage titled car.

Nope, it's just a branding for the title. Yesterday afternoon I set up a new full coverage policy with a local Allstate Agent.
