Default Isle of Man - MEGAMEET 6 - 2010

Registration now OPEN! Click here to register and for booking details

Hello everyone,

Well here it is the birth of another Isle of Man Mega meet it seems. Please note Brian (Mans Best) has done an awesome job with me in PM to get this thing off the ground. Here is what we (mostly Brian and now Ian) have come up with for the plan. We are hoping to get a lot of people interested in this, so please add your name to the bottom of the list if you are thinking you would like to bring your S2000 along to this fantastic meet.

Megameet 6 is your opportunity to join other passionate S2000 owners to:
  • Drive some recommended roads on the Island, in a number of small groups
  • The S2000 Parade - and chance for some great photos
  • Competition for best concours, best modified, and wackiest S2000s
  • Saturday night S2000 Party - Charity dinner, with raffle, prizes and auctions
  • Possibility of Jurby airfield for trackday if enough demand (25+ cars) - will be additional charge
Location

We will be staying at the 4* Mount Murray Hotel on the Island. It is a wonderful location and has excellent facilities. It will act as a fantastic base for all activities during the meet.

The best option for anyone travelling from Ireland and only wanting to stay from Friday till Monday is to sail to and from Belfast.

The details, the predicted itinerary is as follows:

Arrive on the Friday and leave on Sunday night, or (preferably) Monday morning, this will be dictated by ferry schedules and your availability of course.
The fast craft from Liverpool (2 hours) which leaves late morning early evening, or the Ro-ro from Heysham near Morecambe (3 hours) early afternoon or morning 2am to be precise.

Brian will do a couple of driving routes for us, including some interesting sightseeing as well as some quick blasts on speed limit free roads, something like a 120 mile run on the Saturday, with quite possibly a run on the TT track on the Sunday.

An organised meal on the Saturday with charity raffle and auction, and FREE WINE!

We may also have some surprises to add to what is going to be an exciting run to the island, personally I can't wait!

Help Required

All

I need some help in organising some things for this mega meet, some which could take up quite a bit of your time, others which wouldn't. The main thing is the charity organisation. This consists of:
  • Contacting and constantly chasing up suppliers, companies, individuals to donate prizes in exchange for their business/product/service getting coverage and publicity at the meet.
  • Organising them to send the prizes over to the Isle of Man (I am working on getting some storage over there).
  • Arranging raffle tickets and sales of the raffle tickets on the night
  • Arranging auction (you don't need to do the auctioneering unless you want to!)
  • Organising the benefiting charity.
If anyone would like to volunteer some of their spare time to help, please PM me.

There is no limit to the number of people who can help try and get prizes, but I would like one person to co-ordinate the activity if possible.

Over the last few years the S2KUK club has raised over £50,000 at events like this and charities such as, Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation, and MSF have all benefited.

Thanks
Ian

Megameet 6 will be upon us very quickly.

REGISTRATIONS CLOSE on 30th April

Please click below for full details and how to book.

If you have registered and not booked your ferry and accommodation please do so quickly, as rooms are running low already, and we need to decide if we take up an overflow hotel.

http://megameet6.evenbrite.com

In addition, any more helpers for the charity raffle and auction are welcomed - we now have a shared document where people can choose who they can approach for prizes etc. If you can help please PM me - it's a full time job for one person but with a few of us doing it, should make things easier for all, we already have 2 willing volunteers, thanks bluemonster and leftfootbraking

AND if you have anything to donate - please let me know, car related or not - all prize donations welcomed, and money raised will go to very good causes.
