Default 2013 MidWest Track Events

I am probably not the person who should be starting a thread like this but as the 2013 season approaches, I know many of you have some track events lined up. I usually try to attend one or two (either as a driver, observer, or both ).

I think the first HPDE event is end of April at Mid Ohio.

Any of you going?

Sooo.. let's see what people have planned for this year... I know I saw some people with some good "off-season" mod work on their cars.. Going fast in a straight line is one thing.. how good is your car going in, through, and out the keyhole

Tentatively I'll be at all the NASA Great Lakes events and likely a couple of the Midwest events at autobahn and Gingerman.

I won't be hard to spot, since I drive so slow

I'd love to get into this stuff this year... but I can't justify spending so much for a hardtop.

Thought Mid Ohio required a hardtop or rollbar for convertibles?

I believe it depends on who is hosting the event. Most events require a rollbar but not all events require a hardtop. WMHM @ GingerMan, for example, do not require a hardtop. I run that event without a top every year.

Yeah I know there are some tracks that don't have such restrictions, and I'll probably go to some of those. All depends on how the project goes and if my S will be ready in time!

NASA will allow you to run in HPDE without a hardtop, and with the stock s2000 hoops as roll over protection. They will, however, require your soft top to be down

This would apply to all their events (mid ohio, gingerman, Putnam, autobahn, etc)
