Solution - Spare tire for Stoptech 328mm BBK users
Ok so if you have a BBK then the may or may not have realized that the OEM 16" compact spare is no longer useful. Some people just cross their fingers and hope for the best and others rely on their roadside assistance membership. Or you could carry a full size spare around in your trunk but we don't have much trunk space as it is...
I wanted to find a compact spare that would clear my brakes but I couldn't find any info on one that would work for us. I stumbled on a local RSX guy selling a DC5R spare tire so I tested the Stoptech template with a 25mm spacer integrated into it and it cleared OK!
actual test fit:
So if you're like me and you want a compact spare tire option then this is what you need:
1) Compact spare tire from a DC5 Integra Type R (02-06). There's several online stores which sell these, or find someone selling one on clubrsx.com
2) 25mm bolt on spacer with integrated studs. NOT hubcentric or with a removable hub centric ring - I had one of these (the hubcentric ring is removable) http://www.ebay.com/itm/170982604267
HOWEVER, there's still one problem! The OEM spare is a 125/70/16 and the DC5R spare is 135/70/17, so it doesn't actually fit into our spare tire area unless you deflate it first
Hope this helps someone..
