Default I need a new floor jack. Any recommendations?

Today while putting my X-1/9 on jack stands my old Sears Craftsman jack died. The seals gave up and I ended up with a driveway full of hydraulic fluid and a jack that wouldn't lift anything. I pulled out an old scissor jack put it on a 4x4 and used that to get the Bertone off of the jack stands.

I suppose I could fix the old Sears jack, but I've been wanting to replace it for a long time and now I finally have an excuse.

What I need.

I don't particularly need a low profile jack. I have no problem driving my S2000 and my Bertone onto my homemade ramps in order to get the jack under them. I do need a jack with a certain amount of lift as I often use it to put my cars on jack stands to work on them. Generally I'll drive my cars onto my ramps put the jack under the car a go from there.

I'm looking for a reasonably solid, reasonably reliable and reasonably priced jack. Any suggestions?

If you are a costco member they have a very nice jack. I have a 3 ton jack from harbor freight that works great as well. I bought the harbor freight one because the Costco one was out of stock.

My Craftsman 2-1/4 ton floor jack leaks but there's no easy fixes - at least none I've found. I been refilling it until I get around to buying another. They don't build them like they used to.... probably all from China.

I bought one similar to this one at Harbor Freight more than 10 years ago. With autocross, it has been used a lot since I've had it. Works great.

I have one like that. I bought it to carry to the race track when I was tracking the S2000. Works fine for those quick jobs (i.e. lifting one wheel) but it doesn't have high enough lift for my requirements when doing garage work where I want to install 4-jack stands with good clearance.

I bought this jack a few months ago. I’ve used it about a dozen times. I like its ability to reach a considerable distance under a very low chassis and its quick raising attributes. Its lift capacity is 3000lbs; good for enough your s2000, but not for a 35xx pick-up truck. The price was moderate. See floor jack HERE

Rob, I have one similar to this one ^^^. Mine is <made-in-China>, but it has worked quite well for several years, unlike a lot of cheaply made Chinese tools. I like the light weight aluminum, because it is easier to move around or haul to the track when I go.
