… Saturday August 1st - Officially 210 miles and 6 hours of drive time during the drive, however the starting point will be in Bend, OR and *official* end point will be in Sisters, OR.
This drive is going to be a tremendous opportunity to experience 3 of Central Oregon's best roads in one day! We are breaking this down into two options for everyone
Option 1) Overnight - Full experience Head to Bend on Friday night and get a hotel, catching all three roads through the day. Most of the hotels will not do room blocks this time of year because of heavy tourism, so it will be best to call around for one that fits your budget needs.
Hotel Options:
The Riverhouse - 541-389-3111 - had a few rooms open. Ask for their "Social Rate" @ $139/single queen or $147 for double queen if you want to split with someone
La Quinta - 541-388-2227
Sugarloaf Mountain Motel - 541-330-5998
Red Lion Inn - 541-382-7011
Option 2) Saturday only - Skip the Cascade Lakes portion (scenic, but not necessarily our normal "twisty fun"). Leave Portland early to arrive near Oakridge by about 10:30 am Saturday morning to catch the last 2 sections. Specifics will be mailed to you if you choose this option.
If you opt for the full day, you are in for a treat! If you opt for the 1-day only option....we will try our best to forgive you! …………………………………………†¦
Beginning in Bend
we will have a fairly normal departure time, heading up into the mountains to see the majesty of the Cascade Lakes.
A beautiful highway that is dominated by views of the mountains and edged by 14 scenic lakes.
We will make a quick stop for breakfast at Elk Lake Resort, they will be expecting us.
Once we exit the mountains and take a short jaunt up the highway, we will turn off onto "The Aufderheide".
A great campsite access road with good curves as it follows a small river that feeds Cougar Reservoir before dropping down into the McKenzie River area.
At the top of the pass we pass through lava beds.

The Dee Wright Observatory at the top of the pass:

Our drives are not open to the general public, which includes those who used to own an S2000, hope to own one, those with similar cars, or those who think the drive we've put together sounds fun and would like to tag along, etc.
We are not trying to be snobby here, but are trying to clarify what we are about – The fun and adventure of Honda [i]S2000 & NSX ownership.
