Thanks. He was my first stop and I PMed him already but unfortunately he won't take a loose transmission. He will only take it if it's still in the car so he can diagnose before and road test after repair. The transmission is locked up and won't shift into gear. Being that my car is track-only, I quickly had to put in a used replacement to make a race event. I'm looking to get my original rebuilt and putting it back in order for Billman to take it is a bit too laborious and time consuming.

I'll add this, you will pay ~$200 just for a single set of new OEM gears. Then labor on top of that.

I had a third gear grind and that's what parts alone cost me.

IMHO, buy a used known good trans and be done with it.

Thanks for the insight. I have already put a used transmission in the car. I would like to have my original rebuilt and know the quality of it going on. I don't fully trust a used box and with the added strain of racing, the comfort of a properly rebuilt unit is sometimes worth the added cost when you take into account the money spent to bring a car to a race weekend.

It doesn't make sense to buy new as the unit is over $4k.
