you can always adjust clutch...
it's not hard.. only 1 nut
instead of telling us 'only 1 nut', perhaps you can tell us how to actually do it?

ONLY ATTEMPT THIS, IF YOU CAN MANAGE TO DO IT YOURSELF
Because you are going to have to try this at least like 5 times to get it where you like it. I did mine mayb 10 times, since im very picky about little details... hehe

anyways
1. Loosen the 12mm nut, one with the red arrow
2. Adjust the clutch height (Blue arrow):
Turn the rod until you get the right clutch height you want.
3. Adjust clutch free play:
HOLD the clutch (don't let it move up and down) and slowly move the rod left and right to adjust clutch free play. This should be about an 1"
4. DO NOT move the rod. and slowly tighten the nut back on.
5. Test drive, and readjust if you need to

It's going to take quiet a few try to get it where you like it, so dont be frustrated

my friend w/ rsx type S mentioned how insanely late it is compared to his (which feels more like 1 inch)

Are you saying your clutch engages high near the end of the travel, or down closer to the floor? Mine engages up pretty high, about 2-3 inches from the top of the travel as I let the clutch out. It feels kinda strange sometimes but I'm pretty used to it by now. At first i thought my clutch was wearing out since it engaged so high in the travel, but it seems pretty strong 12k miles later.

I've thought about trying to adjust the travel down further, but I'm not sure if there's much point since it works ok now. A Honda tech I talked to said every s2k he drove felt different, and my old clutch felt stronger than his brand new one even though it engages high.

There are two adjustments mentioned in the manual: one for engagement point and one for pedal height. The engagement one sounds like a critical adjustment and I haven't mustered the courage to try yet. I did flush the clutch fluid though and that did make a great difference in feel, much better. I think clutch fliud should be a maintainance change every few oil changes or so, since we need to shift our cars so much so quickly, and there really isn't much fluid in there to begin with, I think it cooks easily.

mine engages very quickly as well, about the 2 inches from the top (fully out) position. i love it and am confused as to why you'd want MORE clutch travel?

When mine was new it seemed to engage about two inches from the floor; now after 2000 miles it engages somewhere in the mid range. I might have to check the tightness on that nut....

I also get very little feedback through the pedal when the clutch engages. Is that also true on the earlier years?

I'm not exactly experienced at driving manual ... the S2K is my first car, but comparing it to other people's cars that I've driven, my S2000's clutch has a definite feedback to it. I can easily tell where the engagement point of the clutch is (ie, when i let up off the clutch pedal, my foot can feel at what point the clutch has engaged and i need to start giving her gas)... which really helps me out when driving. I test drove a 2005 RSX-S and I stalled it twice because I couldn't get a good feel back from the clutch pedal and the clutch was a lot softer than the S2000 (the clutch didn't try to push back up nearly as hard as on the S2K).

wait a second...mine engages really high (when letting off) and really early (when pushing down), i thought this meant that my clutch was gone. is this not true? if its not true then im a happier person.
