Cruise control installed

As I'm heading up to Indy shortly I thought it might be a nice idea to have a cruise control installed. I can't tell you the number of times I've been cruising along and my speed creeps up above the legal limit just in time to drive past PC Plod and his hair drier.
Many thanks go to Col for his pioneering effort with the Rostra Cruise Control. Armed with copies of Col's workshop manual I had the Rostra Electric Cruise Control installed by Ultimate Car Installations (Zoran 0417 700 079) at my house on Saturday.
If you are familiar with the OEM unit available in the US you'll see there is very little difference. No drilling body work was required. The supplied bracket was screwed down at the same point as the reservoir bottle, with just a single bolt throught the bottle bracket for rigidity. Wiring runs through the grommet behind the battery and across to the unit under the driver's side dash. Vehicle speed is picked up from the roof control unit (the roof control checks to ensure you are not moving before operating the roof). The control on the steering wheel is actually and RF unit that talks to the unit behind the dash. It's an extra $80 but means you don't have to have that ugly stalk control on your steering column. You have to recess the shroud behind the steering wheel about 6mm so the unit sits behind the horn button/airbag. It's so soft you can do it with a stanley knife.
Driving response is fine. On the M2 motorway I could maintain 100Kph with an accuracy of about +/- 2Kph in 5th ot 6th gear. In the lower gears at 50Kph response can be a little heavy handed but that is the nature of the vehicle and it's not really for that sort of speed anyway.
Total cost was $740 including installation at my premises. If it saves me one inadvertantly acquired ticket it's well worth it.

Good job Aus and a good deal. I think I am competent enough to install this myself so here goes with a couple of questions.
1. Who sells the Rostra units and which model do you need for the S2k?
2. Did the $740 include the $80 for the RF unit or was it total $820.
3. How much was the unit only without the install?

The Rostra unit is available through Electric Life. I'll dig up their phone number in the morning.
There is only one model Rostra Electric Cruise Control now and it is $540.
The RF remote is an additional $80.
The clutch switch was $30 and install was $170.
I'll also dig up the photo from under Col's dash which shows the Black/White stripe wire which is tapped for vehicle speed.

Just got to the Gold Coast and logged on (sad I know, but I gotta keep an eye on work).
The cruise control was great. Although I spent most of the time on the back roads (Stroud Rd, Thundrbolts Way, Summerland Highway) having fun in mountainous twisties and incredible straights, whenever I had to join the herd on the Pacific Hwy I just set the cruise and kept an eye out for slow traffic. Loverly!
As for the S, well it just purred along real horror story (had to trade in the Durango 95).
I can hear the roar of the Indy cars from the apartment.
