nothing really different. If you want specifics I don't know.

They bolt up the same.

 

Only difference that I'm aware of is that the 3rd brake light is at different heights. That could either be a case of the trunks being different or the actually brake light being different.

 

i've been through 4 trunklids on my s2k.

ap1 has a smaller led third tail light. also it has a smaller emblem.

ap2 has the bigger tail light and bigger emblem. also 05 has a child lock on the latch. or what you might call a safety lock so if someone is in the trunk you can pull the lever and it would open.

other than that. everything is exactly the same. the lid itself is the same.

 

ACtually the difference in third brake lights is not an ap1 vs ap2 thing. Its an 00-01 vs 02+ thing.

 

Great. Thanks for all the reply. I guess it should fit perfect than. With the 3rd tail light, you mean the center brake light right? How bigger is the 3rd tail light in ap2? Would the ap1 light fits and covers the opening in ap2 trunk. Or I'm better off getting the ap2 3rd tail light, along with the trunk? Thanks.

 

AP2 lid makes your car faster.

can either ap1 or ap2 lid make your car goes faster than the speed of an accident or even a ticket?

 

i swapped my 05 trunk lid for an 03 and everything was the same.

i kept my 3rd brake light and put it on the ap1 trunk lid and it fit perfectly.
