Default Tapping factory fuel rail for pressure gauge

Hey lads,

just wondering if anyone has added a fuel pressure gauge to his "factory" fuel rail. I've seen a small plug there, but is this threaded or will I need to have it threaded? Also, will it just screw out or will I have to drill it out?

Cheers boys.

Easy enough now one last question. With regards to the gauge, what gauge would you recommend that would be able to withstand Canada's -30 and colder climate every now and then? What is that gauge filled with and what is it's rating for temperature?

CAn you screw the 1/8th" npt directly into the fuel rail or do you need to "tap" it the right size or get an adaptor??

I have been looking for a Schrader Valve fitting so I can screw on a gauge for testing only like many OEM's.

That is the easiest way to do it.

Use teflon tape on the threads.

The gauges with the liquid are oil filled and should not freeze. The Marshall brand is very inexpensive and can be purchased for less than $20 on the internet.

The fuel rail will polish up readily too. Yes, John, it does make it lighter.
