Default Coolant level in expansion tank

Okay bit of numptie question

I know as the engine heats up, coolant expands, and the little white tank provides extra storage for the expanded coolant.

But what should the level be? I checked the coolant expansion tank level after a 35min run (more or less straight away) and it was below the minimum line (about an inch below the min line), i thought it would have been between the min and max???.

When stone cold, more or less empty??

Thanks

You will find you need to top up from time to time. The expansion tank is not really sealed as such and it can get warm under the bonnet. If the expansion tank has been empty check the rad when cold and make sure it's full.

Yes 50/50 its a common mistake people either put straight water in or antifreeze.

My aunty put full water in the tank a few month back, let a bit escape then put coolant in.

Maybe worth dilluting.

Does it come in 5 liter white can? Where can you see it's pre mix? Is it a light blue colour antifreeze?
