Default killabee - BEWARE OF SELLER

Please see this link for original for sell thread.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry19503608

Seller was selling a minty built block with Mahle pistons, stock rod, and crank for $1500 shipped.

I communicated with him to make sure there is absolutely nothing wrong with the block before proceeding. He replied saying everything was good and never mentioned about any damages.

I paid the seller, and it took him almost a week to finally ship the block out.

When I received it, I was shocked to see the packaging. The block was basically sitting inside a cardbox, with tons of Styrofoam around it. One side of the box was already ripped open, with the foam coming out. I knew this is going to be BAD.

Took the block out, oil pump is cracked, with styrofoam inside the oil pickup. This part I don't care so much as I am getting a new oil pump anyways.

The bad part is, big deep scratch in the cylinder wall.

So basically the block IS built, but it's useless, and I did not pay $1500 to buy a damaged block.

I contacted the seller, and he has not responded to me at all.

ME: Hey man, I am 90% sure I will take your block.

Can you give me more info? What rings were used? what size piston? did you have to bore the cylinder for the Mahle pistons? Which bearings did you use?

Seller: they are mahle rings and pistons they are stock bore which mahle recomends so you dont bore the cylinders down so they are higher in strength to put down more hp. I used oem bearings and the pistons are stock bore.

ME: You mentioned that you did run this motor but did not put the turbo kit on.

I just want to confirm that this block is running properly with good compression and everything.

Are there any other issues with the block that I should know about?

Seller: yeah everything is fine on the block. It still needs to be ran another 500 miles which is recomended by the builder before you put a load on it.

ME: What is the best possible deal you could offer if i do take it off your hands today.

I will be paying with Paypal.

Seller: 1500 shipped. If you want it lmk i have two others intrested in it, first come first serve.

ME: I want it, when is the earliest you can ship it out? And which shipping company will you be using?

You mentioned that the blocked was decked, how much was it decked?

Seller: I can ship as soon as you send the money and it hits my bank acct which is usally 2-3 days. The block is already packaged and ready to be shipped via ups with a tracking number. And sorry if I said it wrong i just ment that they made sure that it was leveled.

Me: Money Sent!

$1500 and I paid the paypal fees.

Please forward me the tracking number at your earliest convenience.

Seller: Ok cool I got the payment. Tomorrow I should be able to get it shipped out for you if not deff. on monady. Ill will hit you up with a tracking number via ups.

Me: Hey there!

Any luck on the tracking number?

Seller: I wasnt able to get it out today. ups Is scheduled to pick it up from my shop on wedsday. I will let you know the tracking number o
asap.

I Paid on Sept 24th, and I finally managed to get a tracking number by October 2nd.

Wow thats crappy. Hope it works out for you man. It just sucks that if you file a paypal claim, you will most likely have to use your own money to send it back to the guy to get your money back. Just go ahead and file a claim and go from there.

dude, that sucks. first of all, complain to paypal, but i hoped you paid as 'goods' or else you won't get anything back.

2nd, too bad he's in Florida, but you might want to send him a message there before going to the mods there. He's been a member for 4 years, so he must be known to a few ppl out there.

Lastly, if he doesn't start talking to you about this, then we can do some sleuthing and figure out ways to contact him.

and shipping it in a cardboard box is just plain silly. WTF.

Here are the pics:

This is the box that the block was shipped in. This is probably why the oil pump was cracked

Here are the pictures of the scratches on the cylinder walls. Cylinder 1 was the worse.

Looks like they used a fry bar to separate the head from the block. You can see all the marks on the edges.
