Default New Intake Manifold

Hi Guys, It looks like we have another option as for an Intake Manifold.

Found this at HT... http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2893807

Heh too bad they used church's dyno...at least as of now it doesn't look that impressive. When the AP2s first came out they were putting out 245+ on that dyno. Again why it is absolutely vital to have before and after dyno's with extremely similar conditions to know the real gains. But many companies don't care about real benefit they just want the 'marketing' numbers.

It's a fact ap2's produce more hp at the wheels than the ap1 about 20 or so average - his dyno measures off the hubs so the drive train loss is low about 10% based on that number - however you also have to expect some figures to be even higher as there is a variance in engine output over time and with any line of engines. Also some results on TOV are based on hand built engines supplied in pre pro cars by Honda.

Everyone from Honda Corporate to Hondata uses Church so do other professional companies and tuners.

BTW per Dyna Pak the drive train loss on these cars at sea level is 12% or so - Some other tuners raise the handicap to match dyno jet numbers but those are artificial not real.

It should be mentioned by the way that the most tuned and fastest American built S2000 all motor race car uses all of Hytechs parts tuned on CAT's dyno.

At 12% drive line loss that f20c is producing about 60hp with those mods btw.

too bad it can't compete price wise with a 600$ pair of obx itb's

get that intake out of the 1500$ range and you might have a few more sales inc

You'd have to spend a lot more to get the itb's up and running.

You still have to get an EMS tuned and all the supporting things to get ITBS to run right. Your looking at maybe a couple grand on top of the ITB price just to be able to use them.

BTW vivid a sponsor here has a thread on releasing the Magnus intake: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=843983
Yea but we have no idea WHEN that is going to be released. How long has Magnus been saying "it will be released soon" ? Couple years. For all we know it could be a couple MORE years.

But with this IM being in the $1500 range, I might as well wait for Magnus to release theirs just to save a couple hundred; seeing as how Magnus is below $1k....supposedly.
