Default ***Nitrous guru needed***

Just have some questions about nitrous and what I will need to run a 50-75 wet shot. My friend bought a used car and it came with a nitrous setup on it. As far as I know, it wasn't working when the car was purchased but he never bothered to fill up the bottle and give it a go so we don't know for sure. Anyway, hes got all these lines and solenoids and a bottle that he's willing to sell to me for $250 (worth it?). I don't know what i'm missing if anything so i took a bunch of pictures of what I have to work with and would like some insight on the parts, how to set it up and what i'm missing. I'm a noob when it comes to nitrous but i get the idea of what it's supposed to do. As far as the solenoids are concerned, is there anyway to test them before hand to make sure they are functioning properly? I just don't want to install the kit only to find out the the solenoid for the fuel isent working and blows my motor up. on to the pics..

Is this for the purge? what exactly is the purpose to purge the system and how often should you do it?

where do you hook these wire too?

what is this big/ short line for?

guessing the main long line goes here

then to here

and those two lines red and blue at the end are for the shark nozzle correct?

btw, he says he has the shark nozzle and another solenoid for fuel he thinks. Am I missing a nitrous ecu? anything else?

btw X2 I'm only doing this so i can kick these kids at work asses with there wanna be s4 (a4) and 335i

thanks for the help!

your missing all kinds of stuff it looks like, I'd say salvage what you got there fittings, lines, bottle etc and get a $400-$500 wet single nozzle kit if your not looking for shots over 75, get a direct port setup for anything over 75.......I wouldn't pay $250 for what you got there

I wouldn't even bother with that stuff.. It is really hard to see what is exactly their.. Personally I would not pay more than 50$ maybe 75$ with the bottle...

after doing some more research, I don't think I'm missing much. I basically need the shark nozzle and the fuel solenoid to complete this kit for the most part. Other then that, I would like to get a wot switch and an arming switch as well as a pressure gauge on the bottle. So, now I just have a few other questions. The 2 wires coming off the solenoids, polarity dosen't matter I'm assuming since the wires aren't marked, correct? Any way to check the solenoids to make sure they are in good working condition before I install them? where does this big hose go to coming off the bottle?

and how often should you purge the system?

I don't know much about this stuff but you still need some sort of controller and engine management. Here is something similar for less than what your paying http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ264937411

Test solenoids on (+)(-) battery terminals. You should hear clicking.

False. He doesnt need any kind of engine management as long as he does a 75 shot or below. Anything above that he would want to get a direct port and then some kind of EMS to tune it properly.

Yeah it doesnt look like there is much missing, but I would never pay $250 for an incomplete used kit. You can get a full new Dynotune wet kit with bottle, all lines, WOT switch, bottle pressure guage, and the best of all, instructions on how to install everything. I'm not saying don't buy it, but thats just me. The dynotune kit is right at $400 and is a nice kit for the price. What I would do is spray a 65 shot just to stay on the safe side, and also get a window switch to control it so you don't accidentally mess something up.

Also maybe you could just buy that guys bottle for cheap (would save quite a bit) and just buy the rest of the kit new so you have everything and proper instructions on how to do everything right. It just seems like it would be a PITA to buy the extra parts, then try to test everything, and get all the wires right and everything.

Good luck!
