2nd Gear Pops Out
So I've done some searching and haven't been able to find a concern similar to mine. I have an 05 S2000 completely stock with about 50k miles and occasionally under normal driving, when I shift from 1st to 2nd and go to accelerate, 2nd gear pops out. I've read a lot about people having problems with it popping out under decel but I have yet to experience that. Than again, I don't really drive the car hard much. I've tried changing out the tranny fluid to no luck. It's always done it since I've owned it at 35k miles but didn't bother me much since I didn't drive it much but now that I drive it more, it's starting to bug me. I would say it happens once every other day I take it out. Has anyone else experienced this? Any info would help, atleast until I take it in to the dealer.
If you try to shift back into 2nd with out going to neutral first does it grind? Or does it go all the way to neutral.
There was a TSB but it was only for 04's

There was a problem with a few of the AP2 transmissions. I believe Honda replaced them under warranty.

When it pops out, it goes all the way back out to neutral..I haven't noticed any grinding but shifting from 1st to 2nd isn't the smootest either.
So I dropped it off today at my local Honda dealership and recieved a call a couple hours later. They were able to verify the problem and also noticed the tranny is louder than normal. So it is getting torn down for inspection all under warranty ofcourse. We'll see if it's gonna get a new tranny or a rebuild within the next couple days. I'll keep ya posted.
Update:
Got a call this afternoon. The second gear set has to much play and input shaft bearing is on it's way out. So both will be replaced and hopefully I'll have it back by mid next week.

i have an 04 and this happens all the time...what does TBS mean? I asked the guys at honda and they had no idea what i was talking about...i'm going to bring it up again to get them to check it. My car isn't under warranty anymore so is this a recall issue or am i going to have to pay for the fix? and if so, any idea how much?
