Droning sound at around 60mph ...
Over the last couple of days I have started to notice a droning sound coming from the car - a bit like someone blowing over a half empty bottle. This seems to start at around 55mph and dissapears over 70mph. Can't decide if it is coming from front or rear and it seems to be speed not rpm related.
Natural reaction is - wheel bearing - but concerned it might be diff?
Anyone had this?
- Frisky.

Is it ALL the way through the rev range? ie 1k upwards or just at certain revs (and thus speeds) gear dependant?
Does it occur in certain gears? And is it ONLY when the top is up or down? or always.

I had this. It was not speed sensitive, it happened all the time. I thought that it was the diff but it turned out to be a hub bearing (not a wheel bearing). Honda fixed it.

You are probably right, does it change on turning? ie get worse or better depending on direction of steer?
You do find you notice a lot more, different noises with the roof up (or hardtop on). the wind doesn`t supress these noises as per topless (ooer) driving.
Now thats a thought........young blonde (female of course) top off, cruising in the sun....oooooh suits you sir....
see, you`ve forgotten your noise now.

I get this at 110+ - goes something like 'slow down' 'slow down' 'slow down' very repetitive, I expect this may be due to passenger weight on the left side of the car. Will take to Honda to see if covered by warranty.

so if the sound is worse when steering - it's wheel bearing?
I have started to get a noise that you hear (it's faint) - that is speed related i.e. you can hear it when in neutral and freewheeling and the pitch changes with the speed - it also gets a lot louder when turning. I was wondering if it was just the tyres being noisy - not sure if it's just because I have had the roof down more lately that I have noticed it.
