Default My DIY exhaust!

I've had a strong desire for more sound while on the track for a while now and decided to go about it on a budget and I love the results so far!

I had my stock exhaust cut off right before the "Y" and a 2.5" single mandrel bent and put in it's place with the exhaust tip of my choice. This was done at Ken'z Muffler in Oxnard and they were really great. The owner had me there from start to finish and allowed me to get it just the way I wanted it. My stock cat and resonator are still in place and I love the sound! It is surprisingly deep and not raspy at all. I have not noticed any drone so far and I don't think there will be any on the freeway under load or at cruising speeds/rpm. I have only done city driving since the install. I really can't wait to get back to the track now!!

Update: After driving on the freeway for the first time, there is no drone! It is great on the freeway at constant speeds. I was at around 4k rpm the whole drive. Under load the exhaust note definitely increases but doesn't drone.

Basically any cruising speed I'm at like 3-4k rpm and it is perfectly fine. Not very loud at all. Just a nice purr.

Here are the pics.

Thanks guys!

Oh that's right Jon, I told you I wanted one at the track that day. No I couldn't!

...And yeah Scotty there definitely were weight savings. I'm not sure how much but if I had to guess I'd say maybe ~30 lbs. You'll just have to come out to the track to hear it

Well compared to stock it is way louder of course. But compared to other systems I am really not sure.

I still have my cat and resonator in place which is more than I can say for most aftermarket exhaust systems.

I have a similar set up. It does sound great! I have not purchased an aftermarket exhaust because of it.
Sounds great at wot.
The good thing is there is little to no drone because of the oem resonator and hemholtz pipe. Plus you save about 40 pounds.

Edit: I have a video clip of it in my sig but I dont know if it transfered over when s2ki made the change. That and I'm always in mobile mode so I can't see anyway.
I'll look for the youtube link.
