I've been going back and forth trying to decide what I wanted to do to get rid of the slop
in what I thought was the engine mounts.
I was going to get an engine torque damper but didn't like the idea of applying all that
load on the head (I'm sure it's fine but I just don't like it). I was thinking about engine
mounts but wasn't sure what to get yet plus I have some ideas of my own for limiting
movement of the motor without affecting cabin noise when idling.
I finally put in my eXedium diff collars and could not believe the difference they made
with no real noticeable difference in cabin noise or vibration. They were also super easy
to put in, I was dreading having to remove my exhaust but ended up not having to.

You need to remove the anti roll bar bushings to allow clearance.


I started with the passenger rear mount. Remove or loosen the center nut before the four
bolts that hold the mount in place and then take it out.


Once the right mount is removed you can then remove the left one. (note both mounts will
be off so if you don't think you're strong enough to hold the diff then get jack to do it
I know stupid joke. The diff really isn't that heavy besides the front mounts are also
carrying some weight.

I don't have a pic but you'll need to remove the two hangers that hold the drivers side
muffler. The triangle one and the oval one and for those with singles it's your lucky day


The next hardest thing after removing the hangers is making sure the name is straight hahaha.


There are two collars per diff mount so don't forget one. I slid one collar on the bolt or
shaft of the diff mount and then installed the diff mount on to the shaft and then installed
the other diff collar. Make sure you seat the diff collars as much as possible by hand so
the keyed washer sits on to the shaft properly when tightening the nut. The idea of the
keyed washer is to prevent the washer from applying rotating torque on the diff mount so
they must be used when installing.


Once both diff mounts are complete you can torque all the bolts and nuts down. The two diff
mount nuts are 47ft lbs and the eight diff mount bolts are 33ft lbs.

The front diff collars are very easy, remove the diff mount nuts (two of them total for the
two mounts), then remove the diff mount brackets. Note: these brackets are mounted on the
diff and are not the brackets that hold the bushing mounts to the chassis. Slide the brackets
out of the diff mounts and install one diff collar on each bracket and re install.


The torque spec of the four bolts and two nuts is 47ft lbs

I'm pretty sure you'll like these just as much as I do and they can be picked up locally
at VEX Motorsports in Santa Clara

i don't think they're very small.. once you click on them. it ate up my whole screen with just 1 diff collar from the first picture

Good write up Mac! Thanks for doing this! Matching this up with engine and tranny mounts might be a nice combo, something that would really help out as the mileage racks up.
