Default DBRXI - Hotels and Lodging Options

As you may already know, Tapoco Lodge is our HQ for DBRXI - our 11th annual Fall event. We have a unique opportunity to fill this property as it has been recently renovated and is under new ownership with a passion for excellence. The rates are extremely competitive considering rates are for 2 people and include both breakfast and dinner. For those staying at Tapoco on Saturday night, your rate will be discounted as your meal (dinner) for Saturday evening is included with your DBRXI registration.

We have heard some concern on price and realized some other options would be in good order. Attached is a simple map of the area pointing out areas with limited vacancy. Many of you are no doubt familiar with Fontana Village Resort...they are VERY limited during our weekend event and only have a few cabins available. Blue Waters Mountain Lodge is a wonderful place that we experienced a few years back. You won't be disappointed. Microtel Inn over in the bustling town of Robbinsville, NC is a good eco-option. Value priced rates and still within a 15 minute drive of Tapoco and 20 minutes to the Dragon!

For more information, I urge you to call the number provided. To register for DBRXI, please visit this link: http://dbrxi.eventbrite.com/

Thanks,

-DBRXI Event Staff (Raul, Sheila, Ron and Jamie)

Okay, I don't want to take anything away from Tapoco Lodge, but I blocked some rooms at the MicroTel because I plan on being there the entire week. The following are the rates I got.

1 Queen Bed $51.96/night
2 Queen Beds $59.96/night
Suite (1 King bed/pull out couch) $67.96/night

All of these rates don't include tax (naturally) but do include breakfast and free wi-fi. If you want to take advantage of these prices, you have to tell them you're reserving one of the rooms that Ken Flower reserved. I don't know if there are any singles left, but there should be a number of 2 queen bed rooms available.

Raul, if this is more information than you want to pass out, let me know.

I'm at Tapoco - Santeehlah cabin $135 a night + 15% gratuity - which is cheap given that I usaully am a big tipper . that works out to about $155 a night for a single, including meals and tips, so really not too far out of line with what I already spend. At Fontana, rooms worked out to $80 plus meals and tips, which usaully added up to my budgetted $125 per day. This is a little more pricey, but may be worth the extra for the location, and the food!.
