Going out for/stopping for ice cream
Summertime in New England doesn't last long. A summer night goes hand in hand with going out/stopping for ice cream.
As we came home from dinner out this evening we passed two ice cream places on our route. Both places have lines. There were so many people at one place, you would swear they were giving away free ice cream.
Neither Rick nor I are real ice cream lovers. Once or twice a year, if we are out in the S, I'll ask him to stop and I'll get a cone of ice cream. That's it, I'm all set for the season.
What's the ice cream "scoop" in your area?

I'm not crazy about ice cream either. I like it but can go without it for many months.

We have three ice cream shops, two frozen yogurt shops, and one frozen custard shop in our area. We go out for ice cream a couple times a week, even if it's just to go to McDonald's for their ninety-nine cent hot fudge/caramel/strawberry sundaes.
Someone needs to come up with a statin flavored ice cream for the sake of my arteries.

We have a Dairy Queen (yuk) and 2 homemade ice cream shops at the beach. The homemade is great and they carry our favorites (rum raisin, butter brickle) at both shops. Nice to get the ice cream then drive around the corner and eat it overlooking the beach. Then I bike 30 miles the next day to remove the guilt.
