Default 200,000 Mile Club

I hit 200,000 miles this past Sunday.

Still on my original clutch. The car still runs like new. I did my first valve adjustment last week, and only one exhaust valve was slightly out (.012"). The rest were within spec. I still have original retainers, and haven't done anything else to the engine or tranny. Lot's of highway miles.

If you're over 200,000 miles, Post your miles and major work done!

Learn to drive stick. My dad did 300K+ on his original clutch in his 96 hatch. It can be done.

doubt Ill make that mileage with my original clutch, 18 parades in the car are torture on the clutch. My Accord is at 175K miles on the original in City driving.. ill be able to post up the 200K miles on mine in about 25 years, MY01 is at 57,000 now

Thanks. I'll post photos later - I've been on the road a lot and the bumper is full of bugs.

Saki - thanks for the badge link.

What's really amazing is that I use extended Oil Change Intervals (OCIs). My last OCI was 39,500 miles. I've gone over 100,000 miles on only three oil changes. I can do this because I use a good synthetic oil (Amsoil 0W-30)and I have a bypass filter and prelube pump. My engine should last a very long time with this setup.

And as Ducatikid mentions, lots of highway miles definitely helps. Anyone can easily get 200,000 miles on this engine just with regular oil changes and a fair amount of highway miles without excessive abuse.
