Default Autoleads Manual Info Requested

After I disconnected my battery last weekend, the only part of the audio controls on the dash that works is the mute light (shocker!).

I ditched the instructions when I fitted the patch lead (PCX-99??? for Alpine HU), and wondered if someone could post the procedure for syncing the patch lead to the HU. IIRC, it involves disconnecting the patch lead and reconnecting, then turning on the HU in a certain order.

If anyone can help, I'd be much obliged

I know this method will work if done correctly as I had to undertake it many times prior to all the buttons working

well, i recently fitted the device, without instructions, heres what i did:

keys out of the ignition, plug in everything apart from the REMOTE wire to HU (i actually forgot about the REMOTE wire)
power it on as normal.
turn HU off, plug in REMOTE wire
turn HU back on and things just worked for me.

mine is autoleads + pioneer HU.

I have the same problem because of disconnecting the battery and my sterring audio controls wont work.
I tried your way to do it and still it wont work.
First time when i installed my autoleads i just connect everything and it worked. It wont work anymore.

When u installed it did u wait for some time to connect the wire to the HU? Or maybe engine was running?
Maybe i did the sequence wrong.
Please help

Loftust - I had the same issue. It was a radio out job and a case of unplugging the power to the little black box, leaving for a few mins and reconnecting. Think i ended up doing this 3 or 4 times between powering the radio on and off and it started working eventually.

IIRC, I also had the same issue installing it, but once it's working it tends to stay working!

I hate that autoleads harness with a passion.

No wiring is worth sitting in the car for hours trying to get it to work.

I found this on the net http://www.nexxia.co.uk/PDF_Files/PC99-KEN-DIS.pdf Its for a Kenwood but I'd imagine the sequence is much the same...

I am about to do this so have no actual experience of what works and what doesn't... but I read the instructions the other day and it said "for Alpine head units you may have to do this several times before it works"... this has not filled me with joy.

I don't have the instructions with me or I'd type it out for you, it wasn't exactly comprehensive.
