It's a car. Feminine??? Masculine??? It looks gorgeous in that color scheme. That's about as close to my S2000 colors (Chicane/Red) as I've ever seen a Boxster.

And I wouldn't call it a successor to the S2000 since they were born about the same time. More like the only surviving sibling.

Damn, I'd like to own the one in that picture. Probably the best real world roadster in production today. Bar none.

Beautiful car. To me, it looks better than the previous 987.

Motortrend doesn't seem to like the way it drives though.

The thing is, I don't want it to be docile. Part of the unspoken contract between sports car and owner is that there will be a tradeoff in ride quality and all other manner of coddling. In return for putting up with steering that must be constantly minded, a sensitive throttle pedal, and the rest, the car will be more exciting to drive. The Boxster's lost some of that. The edge has dulled slightly and the result is a more mature, less emotional car. For the average consumer, that's probably a reasonable tradeoff, but not for the people who truly enjoy driving. The Boxster S, then, is a better-performing car than ever before, but not an entirely better car to my mind. Thankfully, it hasn't oscillated too far from critical mass, and it can always oscillate back if Porsche wants it to.

It certainly isn't a generally masculine design, so... but I guess I know nothing.
And I also don't know why people keep saying that this is the successor (heard it a couple of times on these boards), you know there was a previous boxster, as if that somehow makes the s2000 on the same level of a porsche, it's a honda. Maybe in spirit, but it's a honda and that's a porsche.

I still think the s2000 is the best looking convertible before we go to supercars (CGT by porsche, some ferraris..). The Porsche Boxster looks...a bit happy still. The cayman is f$$$king amazing!
