Tomcatt 2012 Drive Groups
The Tomcatt Drive has always been about, among other things, the love of driving our S2000s. The scream of VTEC, the rush of acceleration, the challenge of the twisties is what it's all about. This year, I would like to bring this aspect of the Tomcatt Memorial Meet to the forefront.
With this in mind, there will no longer be an explicit 'Touring' group - both groups should be considered 'Moderate', with Sam's group, as before, the 'slightly' more spirited of the two. ('Less' Moderate? OK, whatever. )
Now I'm going to be blunt.
In the past, we've always had issues with one or two cars preferring a more relaxed pace. I don't have any problem with folks who don't want to push it as much as others - I feel it's important for everyone to drive within their limits, have a good time, and be safe. In previous years, this only resulted in some frustration for the folks behind the slow person, but sometimes the issue became one of severely splitting up the group, which results in folks missing turns, or allowing local traffic into our caravan. I really don't wish to rain on anyone's parade, but if you cannot keep up, or decide by on your own to move to the back of the group, then I need to intervene.
Please post in this thread regarding your drive group preference. Like I said above, Sam's group will be a bit more aggrerssive, but Roy's group will not be far behind.
We'll work something out for anyone who wants to limit themselves to a leaf-peeper pace.

Roy is the man for me .... and I will gladly serve as your tail gunner should THAT position be open ....

NOTE: A tail gunner or rear gunner is a crewman on a military aircraft who functions as a gunner defending against enemy fighter attacks from the rear, or "tail", of the plane. The tail gunner operates a flexible machine gun emplacement on either the top or tail end of the aircraft with a generally unobstructed view toward the rear of the aircraft. While the term tail gunner is usually associated with a crewman inside a gun turret, tail gun armaments may also be operated by remote control from another part of the aircraft.
