Default WTS: 4.57 Diff, X Brace, Axles

Prices updated 12/21/2012

Item: 4.56 or 4.57 Differential - SOLD
Description: I've had this differential on my AP1 since I purchased it 3 years ago. The diff whines pretty loudly at higher speeds (and always has) but has held strong since day one, so I think it's just the nature of the gear set. I can try to get a picture of it if someone really wants it, but my mechanic already bolted it into a wooden box for shipping. Car has 70k miles on it, unsure about differential. There are at least 40,000 miles on this differential since I bought the car at 32k miles.

Item: X Brace - I think Spoon (no bolts) - SOLD
Description: This X-brace was on my car since I purchased it 3 years ago. I think it is a Spoon X-brace by looking at photos.

Item: Axles - Aftermarket (Unknown Brand) - $100/pair + shipping (can meet if local)
Description: Unknown brand aftermarket axles. Only used for ~5k miles. Fairly lightweight and operate as intended. Great backup set of axles!

Do you have the speedo calibrator for the differential?

I might be interested in the diff. Do you know what gears were installed, and who did it, what kind of oil was used and change intervals that kinda stuff??? The whine concerns me..I think if installed properly it shouldn't whine too much more than stock or even the same.

Nope I'm sorry I don't have one. I've just been doing the math in my head.

I felt the same way but the whine has never gone away. I changed the diff oil probably 4 times over the course of the 40,000 miles that I had the car. There was never an excessive amount of metal or anything in the oil. I don't know anything about the actual gearset or who installed it. All I can assume is that it was a while ago due to the other mods that were on the vehicle when I bought it.

That being said, I have taken the vehicle on a few spirited mountain runs and have never had an issue and I have launched the car probably twice during my ownership.
