He did make his own luck in this race. Good race with good battles through the field. The McLaren's finish in the points. Fernando did a great job at the start to make up places and I loved the battle Button had with Sainz towards the end. They got lucky with some attrition - Vettel and Verstappen.

I think Bottas was on course for a podium, but the Williams cars don't quite seem to be there yet. Bad luck for one of the red cars. The Kvyat missile struck twice and also impacted his team mates race.

Good to see Haas back in the points again and to see K-Mag back in the points too. Perez drove a good race too.

Watched it on CNBC at 7am, I think it was repeated on NBC later in the day.

We keep an eye on all the NBC networks over the weekend, as practice and Quali seem to jump around depending on the specific weekend

^ yep...with the olympics in Rio, F1 will bounce around on the other NBC network channels. Pay close heed to the commentators during each session for where the next session will be broadcast.

I think those are rubbish. They flew in parts to fix his engine so he could start the race in Sochi without a penalty. Those IMO are not actions taken by a team that wants him to lose.

Mark Webber suffered reliability woes while he was at RedBull as did Nico in seasons past. I think this is just a phase of bad luck. He will hit a purple patch soon enough.

Verstappen/Kvyat seat swap.. interesting mid season silly season madness

I think this move was more like Red Bull trying to swoop up Max before another team tried to, than it was Kvyat getting the boot. They just used Russia as one of their excuses.
