1970 BMW 2002 + S2000 = S2002
#12
I cleared out the S2k and selling the remaining parts.
I sold the s52, and this sunday I will be picking up a F22c from a 05 S2000.
I plan on using the stock harness and use the electronic power steering. I really hope I can get it running with the stock harness, this way I can use the Stock ecu. If not this will force me to a more expensive route which is chase bay's custom harness w/ Haltech or Aem ecu.
I plan on making a purchase on some Ohlins DFV in two weeks.
Today I will work on trimming the 2002 more and start welding some braces to prevent flex.

Updates...
First update, A local performance shop needed help with sales. So I started working on Saturdays. I use to work at the shop years ago until I finally decided to move on. Now that I'm back at the shop, it brings back lots of memories... I missed the place. I snapped a couple pics of the shop. Enjoy

Second update...
After sitting and staring... and drinking some tea....
I have decided to go tube chassis and still use some parts from the s2000
S2000 is a roadster and will not allow me great seating. If I plopped the body on top the s2000 chassis I would be sitting 4 inches behind the B pillar
So I decided to visit my favorite place
And Cut

the problem is finding flares that are 5 + inches wide.... no one makes any.
these might work just maybe
Best purchase ever... I also picked the Affordable Bender (worst purchase ever, so bad that i didn't take a pic of it, it works but a pain in the ass) Save and buy a JD2 bender 3 IMO...
Roll bar.... but not welded in yet.
a little more.. enough room for a turbo manifold
I plan on lowering the engine about 3 inches, right its in there with stock mounts.

I got the frame finished and painted. I brushed on KBS coatings rust seal and black top. Then I laid truck liner......
Installed new ACT 6 puck sprung clutch and got my flywheel resurfaced..... to much to list honestly. onto the pics...
On Feb 20th I went to my favorite shop PTuning in Manassas,VA for a corner balance and 4 wheel alignment
the final result for my corner balance with a 200 lbs ballast for driver
LF 703 lbs RF 636 lbs
LR 727 lbs RR 664 lbs
Cross 49.93%
Car weight w/o driver 2530
Car weight w/ driver 2730
the car has 49/51 weight distribution which caught my off guard. I really wasn't expecting that.
The car also surprised me with the weight.... I was really hoping to be at the 2000-2300 mark.
But I think I can figure out how to shed more weight my ideas are
-rear lexan windshield
-rear quarter windows lexan
-driver and passenger windows lexan
-Fiber glass hood and trunk
-light weight battery
-aluminum front fenders?
- lighter wheels? lol idk
These are my alignment specs
Front Right Left
Caster 5.8 5.8
Camber -2.7 -2.7
Toe 0 0
Rear
Camber -2.4 -2.4
Toe 1/16" 1/16"
onto the pics....
this is the old rear spring that is 325 lbs
front spring 400lbs to the rear
The rear is a little soft and rubbing just a tad.
here are some random pics
rear exhaust utilizing e60 bmw oem muffler, and vibrant resonator at the end, I really didn't want to make this car super loud.
I also installed SPC adjustable camber ball joints on all 4 corners
rear
front
you can also see the massive 1.25 solid sway bar. this has three settings
Soft setting. 566 lbs
Middle setting. 644 lbs
Stiff setting. 739 lbs
currently its at the middle setting
pic of the rear brakes
I also got some brake pads on the way tomorrow
Project MU HC 800 street/track pads for front and rear
