Default Kirsch Motorsports Build Thread - 07 S2000 (Update: Wheels & Brakes)

Hello Everyone

The purpose of this thread is to persevere this moment in time and moving forward update as the car develops over the years. I officially took ownership of this particular S2000 from my father after 13 years. Yes that's right, this car has been in the family since new in 2007. It was bought new in Cincinnati, OH and now resides in California with me! 100% stock and 26,000 miles.

My Dad taking the opportunity to climb in the hauler to check the straps and send her off!

4 days later the S2000 was in sunny California home safe without a scratch.

Oh yeah check out my other build if you're interested in the Lotus Elise platform. "HERE"

Time to get to work bringing this beauty back to OEM+

DFV 12k Front / 10k Rears with Sakebomb lower cups

Fresh set of NGK plugs

Fresh fluids, filters, spark plugs and a set of Ohlins it was time for a shake down run with the guys. Compared to the Lotus the S2000 was like riding on clouds, that and the fact it has a radio and AC made for a very enjoyable canyon carver.

Nice car collection and love the story. Having owned 3x S2000's I always thought Lotus was a step up. Until I built a Lotus. Fun on track, but it feels like a rich mans spec Miata on the streets.

I love your Lotus! I've been really tempted to sell my AP2 and pick up an Elise recently.

Looks great, nothing like a clean low mile S2000!

Big Update - Happy Fathers day Dad!

This update will make more sense at the end, but until then here is the latest in updates to the S2000.

After 6 months of waiting my s2ki spec TC-105X in TS Bronze came in! After a quick ceramic coating I had them wrapped in the new Falken RT660 in 245/40/17 squared.

Although the car is lowered at this point it still looked a bit off. J's Racing S1 camber joints were added and proper alignment to dial the suspension in. You may also notice OEM rep front lip and trunk lid spoiler installed. Not OEM, but damn good. Really loving the look!

After 10+ years of neglect, it was time for part II of the maintenance. Clutch job (thanks mom ) under load 1st to 2nd slipped really bad. I decided to go with an OEM clutch with a resurfaced AP1 Flywheel.

Brakes were next - Ballade Sports 330mm BBK rotors and Endless MX72 Plus pads

Really dig the look and the stopping performance is unreal compared to stock. Plenty enough stopping power for a weekend cruiser.

After all the maintenance was completed it was time for a professional detail and protection. Double Take Auto Spa in the Bay Area is my go to spot for all my cars. The S2000 got a full 2 step paint correction, filled paint chips, headlight restoration, PPF on the front bumper, fenders, hood, and rockers, Ceramic coating over the entire car, 70 Ceramic tint on the windshield, and 50% ceramic tint on the sides.

Wow! They did an amazing job. 13 years of wear and tear and my dog jumping on the hood - completely gone. At this point the car is better than new.

Couple more shots in the evening glow - absolutely flawless

And now to wrap it up. Both cars together in one of my favorite places - Wonder how they got there?

HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD! Seeing you drive your car in the Santa Cruz mountains with me is something I will cherish the rest of my life. It was a perfect day spent with great people and cars!

My fiancé and I leading the way

Mom and Dad keeping right up!

At this point I think the car is where I want it to be. Now I just want to share the joy with others. Cheers to creating memories!
