Adrs2k and I spend a day in the mountains. Check out this link for the post on the drive and some great pics he took. I also took a few as I've expressed an interest in learning how to take some good pics. Luckily there are so many great Photographers on this forum much like Adrs2k.

Kitt Peak Group Drive - November 15, 2015

One of our Tucson members organized a drive up to Kitt Peak Observatory. Beautiful drive up about 12 miles of twisty roads. A few of us from Phoenix drove down to meet the Tucson members for the event. Lots of fun plus I get to share the day with with my wife. The scenery was amazing. The top down in November was a bit chilly on the way home after a 13-hour event day. Nevertheless you can only do this in AZ at this time of year. No better place. Had a great turnout and these types of days are just amazing memories to have for the long run.

Thanksgiving Weekend Track Day - November, 2014

Quick update as we head into 2015. Last track session with local S owners at WHP East Track. Been way too long to keep the CR from its natural habitat. Had a great time and getting faster and better on the track. Fun time and all. [attachment=71606::][attachment=71609::][attachment=71610::]

Small gift for the CR during Christmas- January 3, 2015

Decided to continue to improve the braking by purchasing the LHT Performance brace. Easy install and measurable difference upon initial brake feel as I drove the car today. Hope to really have it come into play on the next track session at the end of January.

That looks pretty cool. I so enjoyed that day. One of our most memorable drives. Thanks.

I drove to AMP for a track day today. It was a bit of a drive but not anything that West side guys don't do for WHP. I've always wanted to run the 2.25 mike track with 3 high speed straightaways and 16 turns. Got there and got unpacked noticed right away that I could actually get a covered port in a paved parking lot. Took advantage of that as I know it would keep the car out of the sun when parked. I also noticed that most of the cars here today were high boost or high HP cars. That makes sense as they can really take advantage of the straightways at speed. It was evident that Corvettes, Porsches, and M series BMW's would take advantage of this track on smaller HP cars such as Miatas and others. The orange and green HPDE group results for those that got transponders are linked below.

I was the only s2ki member there today along with the only S representing our community in the Orange group. I passed the sound test. No biggie and got that all important approval sticker. I got to run 5 sessions including a last minute bonus session. I'd didn't know what to expect but ran several hot laps in he 2:02-2:04 range in the first two sessions. Then proceeded to run 2:02-2:00 in the last two sessions wanting to dip under 2 flat but ended up with my best time of 2:00.7. I was pleased given my first time out at AMP. If I had a transponder I would have been in the thick of things as I review the results of drivers with transponders. Only high end cars and a boosted WRX would have been in front. I'm excited that I'm getting faster. I'm learning to look ahead, keep my hands steady, working on my exit speed, and even trail braked on a few turns. That was exciting.

It was nice of Adam and Ira to show up and hang out for a while. Thanks to Ira for snapping a few pics on his phone and to Adam for giving me a few more tips to run faster. Always good to have some support. For those that haven't been to a track day you should think about it. Lots of fun! You meet cool people. I talked to a few BMW guys running between 1:46 - 2:00. Good to learn from them and also other owners like a couple I met that ran 2 Porsches ranging from 1:49 - 2:00. Well after along day I took a slow ride home. I will post some vid or two when I have time.

iPhone video of fastest track run at AMP at 2:00.07. I know with better lines and more exit speed I could get 3-5 seconds faster.

Went on my first cruise of the year with some AZ and SoCal members through some backroads from Mesa to Tucson and back. Put the stock wheels and tires on. Can't believe how comfortable the car is on RE11A's vs AD08's.

After 2 years of driving the car after my last major bit of mods, it was time to finish up this stage of my CR's development. After a lot of consideration as much as I liked the OEM and black tips on my car, I ordered an aftermarket exhaust. So I ordered the dual Greddy Spectrum Elite Version 2 from Go Tuning. I installed it yesterday. Adrs2k and Feezy came over to take a look and helped me with final install details. I was pleased with the fit and finish as its a high quality piece including the welds. It was packed well by GoTuning. Easy install and everything fits with precision although taking the OEM exhaust off by yourself on jack stands can be challenging. But with patience it was manageable. I have to do some final measurements and adjust the tips to my desired height after driving it a bit. It's the finishing piece to my K&N FIPK, Berks 70mm TP, and FlashPro. We drove to a friends home lasting evening with Adrs2k as passenger. We both agreed that Version 2 has almost no drone. The exhaust at low RPM's on and off acceleration sounds quiet. Driving in 5th and 6th gear around 3000 to 4000 RPM's is fairly quiet and just a tick above stock. Adrs2k mentioned several times how quiet version 2 was in comparison to the original at all different RPM's. At WOT it's bad ass! Sounds deep and solid. It's loud but I like that during hard accelerations. It now sounds like the way it pulls under hard accelerations. I did a few acceleration runs onto the highway and it sounds great. The throttle response is also improved although I may have to do a retune with this exhaust to optimize power gains across the band. I'm pleased I picked a good one. Hope this short review helps. Thanks for Feezy and Adrs2k for helping me pull the trigger.
