Back from the dead.



after 10 very long weeks, AEM finally sorted out my lambda issue and there was a failure on the physical uego board. It took forever for them to sort it out, and though they were helpful I wasn't pleased with the process. I also had to purchase a new 02 sensor, because amongst everything they thought that could be the issue but they wouldn't send me one under warranty. Either way I'm glad to have the car back running and driving for the since mid January or so. The whole ecu problem started on Thanksgiving.

Now that the car was finally running properly I got all the gauges wired up, AEM net running WB02, Oil pressure, Oil temp, Coolant temp


Finally got the intake finalized. I ended up with a AEM dry flow with a watersock and 3.5" velocity stack, 3.5" piping to ~6" of 3" right before the throttle body to maximize velocity. I think this intake is pretty much optimized at this point.

Also getting prepared for this track season, my helmet I had been using was Snell 2005, which is outdated now so I ordered a Racequip Pro15 large in white but it ended up being too small so a larger size is on the way, and a euro hans for $275. I ordered the hans on Tuesday from Britain and it showed up at my door on Thursday, that is damn fast for international shipping.





Also unrelated, I plastidipped my wheels on the Titan today, because the factory paint looked like shit, and it was the easiest way to fix the problem.

Doggo is unamused. She's getting old.




Got an alignment for the car on Sunday morning need to bleed the brakes and it's pretty much all set for this season!

Also forgot to mention, but I snagged a Renegade short shifter off the first run they made, and I really dig it. The oem shifter felt tight at 75,000 miles still, but the Renegade feels great. Very pleased and turns out I seem to like it best with a 2.5" extension and the OEM knob. Gives a very close distance to the knob from the wheel.




I had to change out the NRG quick release for a Snap Off version as well. The NRG wouldn't engage all the way, something like 98% and then would give a random final click after driving a bit and lock up that last 2% I couldn't force it to go regardless of what I did. It happened in the pits at my last track day, and would randomly honk the horn sometimes so it had to go. I contacted NRG via email and phone multiple times, and never got a response. Needless to say, I'll never buy another NRG product again.

On a better note, I really like the snap off quick release. High quality product, it uses tapered posts that are self adjusting for wear, it has not slop and is very tight but it's slim in comparison, I bought a 1" spacer to make up the difference and get the wheel back where I wanted.

You can also see my relocated cruise control here, I drive 1.5 hours each way to the track still. Until I start trailering the car it'll likely keep Cruise, AC decent stereo etc.





Also this came in the mail today, going to be cutting out the hood vents

Dove into the hood cut today, decided to do the front 6 holes, likely the lowest pressure area on the hood, as well as they are all between the radiator and engine, maximum flow from the radiator, up and out.

Also, I did it on the car since I have no one to help me remove and reinstall the hood.

Used the air saw and sanding drums to shape the holes, then wet-sanded with 400, 1000 and finally a bit of touch up paint around the edges.

That intake is FxCKING huooooooge. Also, nice work on the hood. Came out real nice. How did you mount/setup your cruise control? Im looking around for ideas to keep mine. Love this build.

Thanks, its pretty well maximized for the car. It works great.

Cruise control- drilled holes in the lower column cover and bolted the stock switch to it, wired in the old switch into the factory wiring up by the key, there is a DIY if you search for it here. I settled on the bottom of the column since its out of the way and easy to run the wiring up, plus the panel is cheaply replaceable if need be.

Got some track prep done last weekend, waxed the car, bled the brakes, heat shield the balljoint, tb coolant bypass and vacuum line delete. air valve tubing delete and block off plate, stripped and polished the shitty blue coating from the muteki lug nuts and finally got the other side of my catch can reintegrated to the intake. Getting ready for the Ridge on the 7th if the weather holds.
