Hey guys, after having some issues (see here) I've decided to source a replacement engine. Prefer '04-'05 with good compression/leakdown but will consider any '04-up F22. Willing to buy a full pull-out (trans, accessories, etc) or even a parts car with a good engine.

I've been looking on CL, Ebay, and Copart but figured I'd post up here as well. Please let me know if any of you have a line on something!

When my 04 AP2 engine seized, I was searching on craigslist, ebay, Serramonte Honda Dealership and word of mouth s2k owners if they knew where I can source out a good, reliable, and low mileage engine 04-05, I was able to both CL and ebay yet all high mileage, no warranty, price range between $3500-$6000, miles ranging from 12,000 miles to 85,000 miles. They don't sell brand new engines anymore. Took me months to find one on my own but with patience and the help from Aki and Jei from BlackTrax in Milpitas, they were able to source out a very strong engine, low mileage, approximately 50k miles, did a full leak compression test, replaced all necessary gaskets seals etc...and came with limited engine warranty. Since they work on a lot of S2000, they must have various source of S2000 engines. Good luck with your 04-05 AP2 engine find, Leon. Blacktrax give me an AWESOME price for the engine!

I believe Jason (Soviet) ordered a short block from South Bay honda, but didn't go through with the purchase? I believe its still available. Check with them if you want to buy new!

Thanks, I remember that and am keeping that in my back pocket! Curious what the used-but-in-good-shape market looks like first, and like I said, I wouldn't mind buying an engine/trans combo.

IIRC, the last time I stopped at Autonation Honda in Fremont the short block I ordered was sent back to Honda HQ because it didn't sell.

What's up Leon, Sorry to hear about your engine. I found one in elk grove AHparts.com 07/91k/3m warranty just in case you cant find a 04-05 one. I have purchased parts from them before good people to deal with.
