Cindy and Rod(Happy New Year)
Cindy has cancer and will not be able to go to any of the meets for 7 or more months. I will post from time to time. Cindys tough, shes going to beat this cancer. Its called Multiple Myeloma, and she has a aggressive form of it. If I can make it out to a meet I will, but don't count on me showing up to very many of them.

Wow! Sorry to hear this news.
I do want to say that my mother was diagnosed over two years ago with the same thing as has done very well with the treatments.
Stay positive, and we will keep you both in out thoughts.

Rod, I am really sorry to hear that. Something you can think of you need please let me (us) know. If I am in town and you need a pickup or a ride someplace, text me.
Just finished the book "Emperor of Maladies". I could not put it down. A book on cancer no less.

Well, the long road to get her well is almost over. We go to UCSF on monday to start the transplant. We stay their for four or five days harvesting of the T cells. Then home for two weeks and then back to UCSF for a very heavy chemotherapy treatment(one dose 50 to 100 times stronger than the standard treatment). It will kill all her bone marrow and the cancer, so she will not have any immune system whatsoever. She will get the T cells they harvested and that will kick start her bone marrow to start it making red and white blood cells. She should be back to 70% by Thanksgiving and 100% by Christmas.
Will keep you informed,
ROD
