2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport
Today in Geneva, Chevrolet announced the 2017 Chevrolet Grand Sport, it has the supercharged Z06's chassis tuning and cooling combined with a 460 horsepower naturally aspirated LT1 V8. All the goodies we love are here, like Brembo brakes and a magnetic ride suspension. It can also be had with the fantastic seven-speed manual or GM’s acceptable eight-speed automatic.

That is pretty cool and all, but after reading a long-term update on Car and Driver's C7 Stingray a few months ago I just can't get excited about a Corvette. Among many other things the engine crapped itself at 6,000 miles, and yes, all of the issues were covered by warranty - but if I were to spend that much money on a fun car I don't want those types of things in the back of my mind when I am behind the wheel. Nor do I have time to battle getting the car to and from the dealer for a bunch of BS fixes.

Interesting, I thought the grand sport was the old man cruise around town non Z06 vette but this looks like a track rat since the C7 Z won't stay cool enough to track hard in hot weather.

I agree, I think this Corvette was designed to be the Track Day special, all the goodies of the Z06 without the cooling concerns.

I love it. I loved the look of the last generation Grand Sport as well, so I've been expecting GM to come out with something for the C7. The aggressive bodywork without the potential cooling issues is a huge bonus, plus I really don't feel the need for 650 hp (465 hp is still more than enough).
The additional aggressiveness of the Z06 bodywork is just fantastic to me. Very purposeful but still sexy.

From what I've seen and heard, the radiator on the base Stingray and the Z06 are EXACTLY the same. Like the same part number. So, besides the intercooler for the blower on the Z06 which won't be on the Grand Sport, I don't think there is any additional cooling on this Grand Sport over a base Stingray.
I hope I'm proven wrong, but their BS comments about having the same cooling as the Z06 is misleading if I'm understanding it correctly.
Pretty sad as I'd actually be interested in a Grand Sport if it had BULLETPROOF cooling ala GT3 grade or better where you can run through a tank of gas in 100F ambient temps on the track without oil/coolant temp issues or power degradation.

Hey, that is a sexy beast! You are the king of the Zaino car meets at the local burger joint on a Saturday night in Hickville when you roll up in that bad boy.
