No downside, but I'll let the people with experience do the talking. You can find a ton of EU delivery information here >> European Delivery - Bimmerfest - BMW Forums

That's a real bummer. Why couldn't you do it with M2 this year? And did you have to pay above MSRP for the M2?

Golf R ALL DAY LONG.
no question, it is the only interesting car on your list. the ONLY one.
and as my wife tells me, I'm always right. If you care, here are the reasons why i'm right.
1) BMW 428 grand coupe Xdrive- stupid looking, unbalanced rear
2) Lexus IS 300 F-sport- stupid looking grill
3) Mercedes C300- Merc isn't what it used to be
4) Audi S3- everyone drives an audi- i'm bored
5) Infinity Q50 Red Sport- meh
6.)Infinity Q50 3.0- meh x2
7.) Jaguar XE AWD- maybe...but its gonna break down and you'll cry at the resale
8.)Acura TLX
9.) Honda Civic Sport Touring hatch (yes a civic, I really like the look and need to see what a car 1/2 the cost is like)- interesting choice.
10) VW Golf R- WINNING!

The Golf R engine is an iron lump. Very capable in the aftermarket. It's the tuner's car, especially the DSG. The reliable power gains over stock are just nuts. Some people getting into the high 10's in the 1/4. VW has engineered a lot of overhead in it.

I say an XE (own one) or Guilia; both the two coolest in the segment IMO. XE is 5 year 60K warranty with all service included.

If you happen to head the direction of Switzerland, Murren is the most beautiful place I think I have ever seen. I teared up checking out of the hotel, I did not want to leave. Stelvio, Lake Como, Cinque Terre, Austria. It is just an awesome bunch of stuff to see by car. You get to pick whatever you want.

If the Golf R is on the list, may as well add the GTI with the sport package. If this is a car for the wife to drive you will find the GTI is just fine.
