One option to consider is getting a roof rack with a box carrier. My parents do that with their Accord.

Yeah possible. It's just really nice having a big trunk area to put stuff. With baby stroller it already takes up half or more of a normal truck so gets annoying not having more room.

I think I am going to keep the mustang and subaru for now and figure out what to do about the MDX replacement.

Pick up an Srt JEEP, it will be fun to drive and you can actually tow with it if needed and you can open up your business to an all new segment with the SRT group. Ps if you go this route I need some brake pads and rotors for mine summer time lol..

I hate to be that guy but if I understand correctly with kids and the occasional need to haul stuff and lots of people....a mini van rocks. Not cool but so freaking practical. I've fit a 9 foot slate pool table in my Odyssey with the rear door closed! We travel with the full family with in laws on nights out. Buy her one of those to replace the MDX and then focus on your toys. They don't handle terrible and have good power. Get a Sienna if you want AWD. Ok I said it and will disappear now...

Can't do a mini van. Very practical and all but I drive 95% of the time and just couldn't do one of those.

4Runner's and Tacoma's have huge aftermarkets. Would the wife be happy in either of those? The resale value is also one of the highest and you wouldn't lose too much on them in the first few years.
A friend has a GTI(Non-R) and it is a blast to drive with a reflash and a few bolt-ons. He also got a deal on it, I assume, because VW is having a tough year with the Diesels. (25k-ish) The depreciation of the VWs are more than I could stomach though.
A 3 car setup works best for us and I've just accepted it. I have a cheaper, older truck that I never drive except for to do truck things and it's not losing any money sitting there because it's at the bottom of it's depreciation cycle.

Well I decided to go ahead and just get a pick up truck. I will be selling the MDX soon I think.

Got a 16 XLT sport 4x4 super crew. Got the 2.7 ecoboost engine and fully loaded option. BLIS, nav, bed liner spray, bed folding cover, tow package, upgraded wheels, side mirror spot lights etc. Really liking it!

Beautiful truck! Kinda funny, I've been eyeing the exact same spec truck for myself, only in black.

What did you get rid of? The mustang and legacy?

Nice! Yeah I'm really liking it!

So far I haven't gotten rid of anything. 3 cars in driveway and my Mustang in the garage. Side load garage too so haven't even tried getting it out yet haha.

I think I will be selling the MDX next week. Keeping Legacy and Mustang and truck.

I'd love this setup. I can't seem to get the wife to drive a truck though. I told her it's giant with a giant trunk! Think of all the crap you can put in the bed! ... she wasn't having it.

haha yeah it really does hold a ton of stuff! I went to sams club yesterday with it. No kids. We put the back seats up and it fit so much stuff inside the cab it was crazy! Way more than the MDX could fit even in the back it seemed.
