Default Today I bought

A S4000 with back seats and some tech, cheers to MB for letting me quiz him about the cars.
Also known as...

2011 BMW M3 Alpine White Competition Pack with 7sp DCT.

Picked it up last night in the pouring rain so taking it easy. All the spec I wanted (EDC, Pro Nav, dynamic lights and Fox Red interior). Was owned by a detailer and it is absolutely mint with 34k miles on the clock, correct MPSS tyres too.

Logical upgrade from an S2000 and loving all the tech. Stuff like High beam assist is very useful.

The M3 subgroup of former/current S2000 owners is growing. Welcome Si looks like a very clean example

edit: watch out for kerbs when parking that 10mm lowering seems to make all the difference

mainly due to lack of use ! Only done 2.5k in a year in the m3 .... warranty was about to run out ( wouldn't run one with out one and it's around £85 a month ) ... and got offered 33k , so took it ! They are all the car you could ever need but for a weekend, spring/summer car just not quite special enough. Was looking at all sorts of cars up to 45k but in the end could justify having that sort of money in a 3rd /fun car . That's why I settled on a nice little s2k again , good honest cheap fun

£33k is a good offer for a three year old M3 and your 2.5k a year is under half what I manage retired It's a good decision to go back to an S if you are after a fun/weekend/summer only car, rather than being your 24/7 main drive in all seasons. Quite a few of us are deciding that the M3 is so reliable (apart from the issue with throttle actuator gears) that the all encompassing warranty - which as you say is around £1k per year - is unnecessary.

yes it was the right decision for me anyway

and completley understand that a warranty is not for everyone . I just like having that safety net should anything go wrong , as I'm sure you're aware the m3's aren't cheap to fix !

As said i loved mine to bits and the dct with that engine are a match made in heaven !

what exhaust are you running ?

stunning car, very jealous! Would love to upgrade to the M3, but just slightly out of scope money wise!
