All of the helical PPG sets are built off AP1s, so AP1 synchros. Mine has an AP2 rear driveshaft flange though.

Does the helical gearset whine like dog gears? Any in car videos to reference?

The dog sets don't whine because they are dog engagement, they whine because the gears are straight cut. These are helical, so no they don't whine. Same noise as a stock trans.

edit: It may be slightly more noisy, but nothing remotely close to a staight cut set. I can take in car video to show it driving fine but my exhaust dumps under the car so you won't be able to hear anything but that.

I meant straight cut by dog gears, bad habit. A video when you have time would be much appreciated.
