Default 2007 Spring Mod Day - DYNO RUN INTEREST

As you likely read in the Spring Mod Day thread, we are planning to have a portable dyno available all day Saturday.

Back Street Performance

For reference, Back Street was at FC 2005, BeaveRun/Beaver Falls, PA.

REASONS TO DYNO:

1) ENGINE SIGNATURE (specific HP/TQ):
For a record of your engine's performance.
You know what the factory claims (on avg) for a car like yours. Now know exactly what the HP and TQ numbers are for *your* car. After a dyno test you'll have a detailed record of your car's performance (a signature of your specific engine if you will). This information about each individual test will include rwHP and rwTQ versus RPM, air fuel mixture and weather conditions of the day.

2) BASELINE FOR MODIFICATIONS OR TUNING:
Knowing the horsepower and torque gives you a solid basis for making changes in the engine's tuning or a baseline for making modifications to the engine.

3) BRAGGING RIGHTS!

=====

Since this is a $izable commitment, we need to get feedback on who plans to dyno their car.

Right now, it's expected that we'll need 15-20 people just to breakeven.

Pricing Dyno Runs:
$75 for 3 pulls

If we have the people, we'll develop a schedule to ensure everyone gets their dyno run.

FYI: We'll need to know if we made the minimum number of cars by next week in order to reserve the dyno. We may still be able to get it after next week, but there will be no guarantees at that point.

2-3 Pulls YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (As long as the guy can print out the Dyno graph) if that is the price that slowmotion does the dynos for, the price will have to go down as well.

Put me down for 2-3 as well... and I would also like the dyno graphs (I don't see why they wouldn't be printed off anyway)

I will claify with the company that's doing it, but I would be very suprised if the Dyno Charts/Printouts are not included. That is a staple of any dyno service I am ware of.

Count me as a maybe. You can get 3 pulls/AFR readout for $80 at Slow Motion Motorsports on E. 14th in Columbus, $85 at Auto Exotica on Bethel, and $100 at Auto Assets on Powell. Prices would have to come down a bit for me to dyno there when I have 3 places within 20 minutes of me to do it cheaper.

Sidebar: BTW, I believe Slow Motion is the only one in town with Dyna Pacs. That and DynoDynamics are the 2 best dynos to use if your getting actual tuning done.

Back to your regular scheduled programming.....

toofast4yalll and jlucas,

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll check into this and the type of dyno it is.
