Default Why the crazy insurance quotes?

I'm slightly perplexed to as why the S2000 is seen as such a danger to insurance companies. I've had some fairly lairy cars for my age and my broker knows this but he still can't find me a half decent quote!

22 with 3 years NCB, no point or accidents in a A rated post code = £1200.

Considering i paid £750 fully comp to insure my TVR T350 last year when i was 21 that seems a bit of a joke!

I think £1200 seems about right considering your age.
Mine's £750 and i'm 30 with 9 years NCB and no points or accidents.

Generally it is because the types of cars you have had before TVR & M3 etc.. are not normally owned by people in their early 20s, therefore in that regard you're an unknown statistic so your price is more based on the car not the driver.

Plenty of people in their early 20s have S2000s as you now get them free with Cornflakes they are so cheap.

People that age (generally) have no experience of reasonably powerful RWD cars and crash them a lot.

Hence high premiums.

Please note the use of "generally"

It's also a very expensive car to repair, which might mean claims costs are higher than for a TVR. (I've no idea about TVR repairs, but it might explain things).

TVR's are the worst thing to repair. The body shell is all one bit and there aren't any spare ones now TVR have gone under!

A lot of women must have but a lot of AP1 ones through hedges/houses/farm animals for them to get this kind of rep with insurance companies!

and men.

A lot are crashed during the winter months and it doesn't take much damage to write them off.
