Default Miata event at Motorsport Ranch

This is a Miata event but S2ks are OK too. Contact Mike Preston (e-mail addy at bottom of message)

They need 10-15 more entries to make it happen.

Date: Thursday, October 28, 2004
Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm
Where: Motor Sports Ranch
Cost: $125.00
# of Sessions: At least four 30 minute sessions.

We get the track for 8 hours and we'll run the event similar to the
way Merv did it back in the spring. Only difference is the passing
rules are the same for all groups (standard MSR rules).

We need to get at least 35 people to commit to this event before we
can put a down payment on renting the track. By committing to this
event I mean a payment of $125. Once we get 35 checks in hand, we
will then secure the track time. The check will be non-refundable
after we pay for the track time and insurance. If you can't make the
event after your check has been cashed you will be responsible to
find a replacement driver for your spot or you'll lose your entrance
fee. We are not going to do any juggling of checks and refunds.

We also need to have a list of volunteers to help run the
grid/tower/registration etc. I'm also thinking that we might need to
implement a work assignment like the auto-xers have. We also might
consider non-Miata cars of people we know who are Miata friendly.

It depends on if we can get 35 people to commit in advance, with
their money in hand, to make this happen.

So we'll start off with a list of people who are interested, agree to
the terms and the entry fee.

Once the list reaches 35 (or more names) we'll collect the entry fees
from everyone. Once we get 35 checks they will be cashed and the down
payment will paid to MSR and the insurance company.

So if you could please respond to this message (delete all this copy)
and we'll see how many people are really interested in participating.

Hope to see you all at the track.
