Default need some Mugen CAI help..

Need to cut the hood but have no template or detailed picture.

I purchased a used Mugen CAI which I thought was a very good deal until it showed up with no brackets, fasteners, or instructions. It has lived in the garage for over six months, but I finally took the time to fabricate the needed brackets (thanks to Luis for some good pics), so I am ready to install.

Don't want to cut the hood without at least a good picture and some measurements. Could someone send or post details? I'll PM a fax number if you have a template.

Appreciate any help or advice.

This is on a standard 8.5x11 piece of paper. It is an exact trace from my hood. The measurements are distance away from the edge of the hood.

Chris,

I'm not sure about you, but Dan's "trace" is kinda funny (I don't know why, I looked at it and chuckled).

Luis was kind enough to find the measurements and email them to me. So with that and the picture I was able to cut the hood and install the intake this morning.

King did send me the instructions some time ago but there was no chart for the hood cut.

So what is the word cdelena? Did you notice an improvement with the intake? Do you like what you feel?

I like this intake. Of course you only get a few minutes of seat dyno and then you can't compare anymore, but first impression was that low speed acceleration and throttle response is more crisp.

This is compared to the Comptech that I took off. I really like the fact the Mugen is slightly louder than stock but not as loud as the Comptech.. and a lot quieter than the AEM. I like the sound better than others.

I will tell you that this was real work for an intake install, even if you have all the parts. What made it worse for me was that I bought this used and the guy only sent me the airbox and filter. In the end the 5 or 6 hundred I saved hardly seems worth it after spending a full day fabricating brackets. Then almost another day to install.

Overall I am pleased and glad I got this intake.
