I love this sh!t!... here it goes; on my way back from cruising Alki I spot a SVT Cobra... he notices me as well, and we give eachother a thumbup... then I hit it to let him know I want to run, then back off. Then he speeds up and hits it, then backs off...

Exiting West Seattle Bridge onto I-5, we take the immediate exit on to I-90... this is where it went down. I took the first corner at a 110mph... the Cobra couldn't corner like the M3...

I honk my horn to let him know I wanted to run... he proceeds with the flow of traffic,

So I speed up and roll my window down... I ask do you want to run from 45mph... he said yes.

I dropped into 2nd at 45mph redlined that gear, then shift to third.

3rd gear I'm still ahead he's at my rear bumper... I hit 100 in third, then shift to 4th,

4th gear 110 mph SVT Cobra creeps up and by 115 were even... by 120 he has a 1/2 car on me.

Again I'm impressed with the M3... This encounter was by far the most awesome.

Here is my presumption E46 M3 vs SVT Cobra and C5 the two cars I've wanted to run badd and got my chance yesterday and today... If driven precisely and aggressive the M3 can edge out these cars from 0-115, after that the Cobra and C5 I know will pull... regardless I'm impressed and more mods to come...

SVT Cobra owner looked suprised... but was a cool guy.

but a cool encounter... I was ahead by very little from 45 all the way up to 115 then the SVT walked 1/2 car then traffic so I had to back off at 120mph.

 

weird how a 13 second car is even with a 12 second car....very very strange.

 

Man, I wish I had an M3! A beautiful piece of automotive engineering no doubt.

I've driven an SVT Cobra a couple times...they have a lot of power but they don't have the look and feel of an M3.

Cobra Shifted three times verses me only shifting twice in the SMG... I was smashing the gas pedal and could here his row row row your boat shifter...

from 45-115 I was ahead but barely... he was at my rear bumper and then walked a half a car ahead of me after 115, and I cut the run off at 120 b/c of cars in my lane.

Cobra's and the SVT are monster once they upgrade the pulley, exhaust and so forth.

Damn Bill, what is up with all the races? Too much racing for ya. Be careful, you'll either get into troubles with the law and/or your car will break soon.

But very nice run! I'm impressed with your M3. Of course the Cobra is powerful, but like other Mustangs, it lacks other qualities. I would take a new M3 over 2 new Cobras. I would take a new NSX over 4 new Cobras.

 

Nice comps man... I don't abuse my car at all... I drive it hard in these type situations only, so get excited and post. It's wise to start out 10mph or 45 in 2nd then your car doesn't take a real a$$ whipping on the tranny and tires...

I only redline when I race.

 

Good run. But the odds were in Cobra's favor though, it should've taken you all the way.
