i am getting an si crx(91) as a grocery getter and beater(also to experiment on doing engine work myself).

anyways the question is if i placed a b18 from a type-r integra in it, would it be a 6speed transmission or still be 5spd?

can i swap the integras 6spd in the little crx also?

there is not 6pd tranny for a b18 motor (that I know of).

Just get a B16A tranny. It has shorter gears than a GSR/LS tranny as it is basically an Integra TypeR tranny minus the LSD.

That said, it sounds like you have alot more research to do. good luck.

I think the B16 is a better fit in the 'rex- you can get the old CTR parts (cams, intake manifold, etc) and that should be plenty for the little CRX. Seems like the B18 was too tall or something.

BTW, how much did you have to pay? I am also considering a CRX, I'd like to have a '90 or '91 Si.

 

darn i thought a six speed type r crx would be a cool idea.

i have not purchased one yet but i will soon(before this month is up).

i heard it runs low 11's, redlines at 9400 rpms. its basically stock with itbs.

 

I'm pretty sure that's the same guy that had ITB's on a S2000. I can see that he is still afraid of using an air filter. I don't give that engine long before swallowing some nice debris.

yeah that's Team Pacman. He used to have a ITB S2000, I'm not sure what happened to it. I have video of that car racing a friend's B20 VTEC EG a few weeks ago.
