MP3 CD Changer-Controlled by'00-'03 Factory Radio!
MP3 CD Changer - Controlled by Factory Radio! Easy!
Wish you could play MP3s in your S2K without replacing the '00-'03 OEM head unit?
EDIT: Sorry, doesn't work on an '04!
This is a 10-disk CD changer that plays MP3s through the Honda OEM Head unit. Unlike most other changers, it doesn't use FM or RCA or some kind of cassette gizmo, it connects directly to the head unit through the same cable connection that the OEM CD Changer does. As far as the factory radio is concerned, you have an OEM Changer connected to it - except this one plays MP3s and has 10 disks! You change tracks and disks right through the Head Unit and the stock fingertip controls to the left of the steering wheel without any modification whatsoever.

It is also small enough to fit into the empty space in the toolbox in your trunk, so it is totally stealth. It was a great solution, but I have since upgraded to an Alpine and I put my GPS Brain in the space instead. A few things to note - Obviously the factory head unit is only capable of showing disk and track numbers, not full titles. Also, the head unit can only directly access the first 99 songs of each disk and the first 6 disks, but if you let it play on it will go through every song and every disk. It takes a few seconds to start playing MP3s when you first start the car, probably because the CD changer does all the MP3 processing, a tradeoff I was willing to live with to be able to play MP3s. Installation is easy - run the included cable from the back of your OEM radio (you don't even need to unplug it or enter the code) to wherever you want the changer, aka the trunk, and plug that side into the changer; this single cable provides power, control, and the audio signal, there is nothing else to do but ENJOY MP3s!
This saw 5 months of use. It comes in the original box, with all the original components, unused mounting brackets, etc. manuals cables etc. The manufacturer SSi wants $259+ shipping for it, Best Buy and Fry's want $250 (plus tax) for it, and I have seen a few for sale on Ebay but every one is the model WITHOUT MP3 capabilities.
EDIT: >>>>>> now only $179 <<<<<<<<
$199 (@ $70 off what it currently would cost new), actual cost Fed-Ex Ground shipping (no BS packaging/handling fees) or free local pickup, I take PayPal if the buyer pays their fees.
Oh, below is the compatibility list of all the types of cars it works in. See the bundle of wires in the top picture? You just grab the wire that matches the car you are hooking up to, throw the rest in the box, and pop it in.

Gotten lots of PM but no PayPal yet - so the price is dropped to only >>>>>> $179 <<<<<< !
Right now this is $249+tax at Best Buy and Fry's, roughly $265 out the door, so you save $85 ... and it is _still_ the best way to get MP3 into your OEM head unit.
Remember, the complete installation consists of plugging just 1-wire into the socket in the back of the OEM Factory Radio; this 1 wire handles power/ground, control, and stereo signal.
The changer itself slides perfectly into the empty space in the trunk's styrofoam tool tray for a padded and stealthy install, or slide it behind the passenger seat, etc.
IT IS JUST THAT EASY!

Now that is funny. I figure most people here know the saga of Snowbaby; those who don't, you have a good laugh in store:

And of course, Snowbaby's best vouch comes from the very same SaNg05 who ripped off Lily and Jay:

PS - Thanks for the reality check, Drew!
Thanks JD, entertaining reading
To give you an idea of what a scammer JD is, this weekend I saw him personally deliver a Cusco 3 pc. brace he'd managed to arrange a discount on for a fellow S2ki member. That member had hurt his leg earlier in the week so JD installed it for him too. I believe he was paid a half a sandwich and a soda for his services. (mighta been a whole sandwich. I can't honestly say, and I do want to be accurate here)Clearly this is a seller to beware of!
Thanks for the tip snowbebe
btw, did you ever get around to refunding the $$ to the board members you ripped off? I thought the FBI caught up w/ you and made you, no?

Just a side note - this will not work in the 04s as they have a different plug
- I know nothing about the seller or the posts mentioned above BUT i just wanted to let 04 owners know they can not use this
