Talking Ring Meet Easter 2005

Dear all

Following on from the impressively slow Jag diesel lap by Mr Clarkson, I hope lots of you are now thinking "I can do better than that!"

Well, now you can! As discussed in huge detail in this thread https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=248925 its looking like we have a large bunch of people wanting to go to the Ring at Easter 2005.

I'm happy to provide track coaching (to the best of my ability)/pace notes/videos/advice/stupid suggestions/etc but someone in the UK will be needed to organise things for the UK based S2Kers as us poor tax exiles in Jersey can't do that!

Depending on boats, etc, my broad plan is as follows:

Thu 24 March Leave Jersey by boat, drive across France to Belgian border
Fri 25 March UK S2Kers catch morning boat to France, drive to Ring, all arrive at hotel c. 11am - get a few laps in!
Sat 26 March Spend whole day on track, top meal at Bacon Soup Restaurant!
Sun 27 March Spend whole day on track, celebration meal at hotel in evening
Mon 28 March Spend morning on track, all leave for home in afternoon, UK S2Kers arrive home that evening
Tue 29 March Arrive back in Jersey with shagged pads and bald tyres

How does that sound?

Ben

Sounds perfect, Ben.

I've booked the 24th off work but can't get the 29th off so I'll have to travel home on the 28th.

If you're compiling a list, pls put me down for 1 place. I'm trying to convince my cousin who has a Lotus Elise to come along too, so I'll keep you up to date.

Watched your video last night. Very good!!!! Will be watching it some more, and getting some practice in on the XBox.

Oooh..... I'm so excited!!!!! I cannae wait!!!!

The video isn't fantastic quality (or speed come to think of it) but it does give you a reasonable idea of what you're in for. The thrill of cresting a hill at 100mph then seeing it drop away in front of you as you hammer up to 130mph+ is bloody brilliant!

I'd go, but unfortunately (someone has to do it) I have to go to Hawaii just after Le Mans so don't think I can afford it
