Coming home from Costa Mesa tonight, I came across a kid in a WRX who didn't want to let me merge off the ramp. He wasn't just being oblivious, because I could see him looking right at me. I wasn't in the mood to screw around, so I slammed on my brakes and cut two lanes right behind him as I downshifted to third. I hear him gun it at the same time, and we're off. It wasn't more than ten seconds before I was even with him, then I just kept on pulling. I took it up to around 95 before I put on my brakes, except he keeps coming to do a flyby. I downshift and pass him again. This time, he stayed behind me after I put on my brakes.

Perfect timing on his part. I needed to take out a long day on someone, so a Vin Diesel wannaba was perfect.

Speaking of which, the new Miata is 170 RWHP and lighter than the WRX. I'm just waiting for the first time a lousy WRX driver gets served by a NC Miata from a roll.
