Default S2000 Autocross (9/24) is a go

Drivers,

Like you, we have been monitoring the weather closely this week. The conditions for North Texas have improved over the past two days to the point where we are comfortable going ahead with this event. Rain is expected in the Austin area, Saturday PM. We also have a slight chance of rain in the late afternoon, about 20% depending on who you look to...weather.com, national weather service.

During the event on Saturday, we will be touching base regularly with family in Austin getting updates on Austin weather. If that weather becomes severe we will find a good stopping point for our event, pack up, and depart Mineral Wells with time to make it back to DFW.

Based on the improved conditions, we hope that you will join us at the ring tomorrow. Gregg Lee has laid out a fantastic course that will be lots of fun.

Please check this thread Saturday before you leave for Mineral Wells. If, for any reason the weather takes a turn, we will post an update here.

Is there no way for an extra registration spot for me? I had no idea it had such a low limit cutoff and I'm thinking there might be some no-shows actually I didn't realize there was an event out there this weekend

I'm not worried about the weather, but I am worried about being able to find gas after driving out to Mineral Wells. About half the gas stations I've looked at today in Dallas don't have gas.

Does anyone know if the availability of gas is better outside of the metroplex?

I didn't have any problems in North Dallas today. I'd suggest that everyone fill up in Fort Worth (if you're coming from Dallas) before coming out to Mineral Wells. That should give you plenty to get out and back.

The gas stations in the Mineral Wells area seem to have plenty of gas, and not bad prices either (cheaper than in CO at least).

Mineral Wells, the part in Palo Pinto County, is outside the DFW EPA control counties and sells undiluted gasoline.

Is that good or bad? Does that mean that octane ratings aren't necessarily up to par of dallas standards?
