Sounds good, glad it was fun.
You could have waited till you had the pics ready before posting though, then we wouldn't have to wait - I had a fresh cup of coffee ready and everything before opening the thread!

I've had my car for nearly 2 months now and have done less than 1000 miles in this time. I've had a couple of local drives to the Dales but until I get a road trip under my belt I never feel that I have properly "bonded" with the car. A road trip lets you experience all aspects of the car; performance, handling, comfort, practicality, etc. It helps you to learn what the car is capable of, and what you are capable of with the car. Anyway, after this weekend I have bonded with the M, and I do love it.
Porsche - my mate Pat has had the Boxster S for about 2 years now. He absolutely loves the car which is a 2000 model with some sort of GT bodykit and wheels, and about 255 bhp. He doesn't get much time to do any proper driving but I have done a coupe of drives with him before; just a day out.
Honda - my other mate Andy always had a soft spot for the S2000, and drooled over mine every time he saw it. After I took him out for a drive in my car last September he had no hesitation in selling his A4 Avant and getting a brand new S in Silverstone with black/red interior.
I really couldn't get excided about just going out for a drive. I needed something much more substantial. After all the recent talk of the credit crunch, road tax and petrol price increases, the recession, I was beginning to wonder if I had made the right move getting such an expensive car (it is to me anyway). I needed to get away and find the true character of the car. When I mentioned Scotland to Pat and Andy I think they had somewhere like Dumfries in mind. To me, proper Scotland is in the Highlands, and nothing less would do for my first M tour. My definition of a Road Trip is a drive which visits at least one country, includes at least one overnight stay, has great driving roads, and places of interest along the way. That is what we needed, and that is exactly what I had planned.
Due to everyone's work commitments we could only get together this weekend, and had to be back by Monday. I had fancied a trip to Skye which I have never visited, but wasn't sure we could do it in the time allowed, unless we just went directly there and back. We needed to be in Scotland on Saturday am and have a full day driving my chosen route, then home on Sunday. The route I'd planned featured some places Euan had taken us to on the first Woolley Bollard Tour, and consisted of great driving roads and scenery, and places of interest along the way, as my 2 friends had never visited the Highlands before. We would be leaving after work on Friday and staying the night in Stirling, then spending Saturday night on Skye, and returning home on Sunday.

Firstly I must apologise for the quality of the pics. I was on my own in the car without my trusty navigator and photographer; Kathryn.
